Surprise

The plan was hatched in January and we purchased our tickets to fly down to California to see our sister Emily, who moved away almost two years ago. We are pretty good secret keepers. She had no idea!

This trip came at a great time. Just when I thought I couldn't take it (when I say "it" I mean kids fighting, responsibilities, winter weather, being chubby, husband always working, me always feeling sorry for myself . . . . you know the drill) anymore, and was seriously contemplating checking myself into an insane asylum (no joke), it was Thursday, March 19, and we were ready to go on our getaway. Phew. A MUCH needed break for this Mama.

So, after lots of driving . . . . . .

Lots of flying . . . . . .

Lots more driving . . . . . .

. . . . and we were FINALLY there, in Turlock. This is how it all played out!

(I hate hearing my own voice. It's a little creepy. Is that what I really sound like?)

There were 7 of us all together. We were all hiding in the corner, and she kept seeing more and more of us. Funny thing is . . . . we have plenty more sisters! The rest couldn't come. Bummer.

It was an awesome weekend of hanging out, talking about the most random things, more hanging out, and lots of KIDLESS shopping (come to find out, shopping without kids is AMAZING)!

What I lack in talent, my sister makes up. Check this out. Isn't she AMAZING!

Its too bad it all had to come to a screeching halt. Reality was awaiting.

So, Lots of driving . . . . . .

Lots more flying . . . . . .

Lots more driving . . . . . . .(Did I mention I hate traveling, especially flying. BARF)

And we were home on Sunday night.

The silly thing, is that the whole time I was gone, having a blast of course, I missed my babies and my husband so much. I get so annoyed with myself, because I complain and complain about how much I need a break, and then I finally get one, and all I want to do is be with my kids. I guess the grass is always greener, right?

Damon did a fabulous job of being Mr. Mom while I was gone. In fact, he does such a good job, I think I should go out of town more often. Yes. . . . . I think I will.

Double Header

Spring Soccer is in full swing.  Today we had a double header.  I have two words for you. . . . . . .

TOTAL. DOMINATION.

Perhaps it's because we got two new players?
Maybe its because we added to our coaching staff?
Or could it be that the other teams were having an off day?

Hmmmmm . . . . Probably all of the above.

Whatever it was . . . . . . those two teams didn't stand a chance.  The Gators were ON FIRE!

Don't they look like a FEROCIOUS bunch of six year olds?

I was telling my sister, that I really enjoy having something fun to do on my Saturdays.  I often hear a lot of complaining about having to take kids here and there, and always being so busy with sports and extra curricular things.  I will probably, once again, eat my words in a few years, when it gets old (I hope it doesn't), but for now, I LOVE THIS.  I am so excited for my kids to do fun things, and to go and cheer them on as a family.

On a side note  . . . . while Ava was busy NOT obeying me, you know, getting a coat on (I only asked her four times), because it was FA-REEZING . . . . she had plenty of time to put on her "forbidden to wear out of the house" glass slippers, and sneak herself into the car.  Too bad I didn't notice until we got to the Soccer Complex.  She might have been cold, but at least she was SYLISH and cold.

A Few Things

Problem Solved . . . . . Maybe

I am NOT a morning person.  Getting out of bed is one of the worst things for me.  Mostly because I stay up too late, enjoying the quiet time while my babies are sleeping.  I think if I would just go to bed earlier, it wouldn't be as bad.  Hmmmmmm . . . . easier said than done.

I have been pretty lucky with my first two girls.  They would sleep until about 8:30 or 9:00.  Unfortunately, that all got shot down once they started pre school.  8:00 is the latest we can wake up to be ready and there on time.  If I could sleep until 8:00, that would be great, EXCEPT . .  . . . Lila's internal alarm goes off at 7:00am EVERY DAY.  DANG.IT.   It doesn't matter what time we put her to bed.  She is ALWAYS awake at 7.

GOOD NEWS!!! Daylight Savings!!!!  Now, her body will think its 7 . . . . But its really 8 . . . . . I got my wish!  Now lets hope she doesn't catch on!  Oh  . . . And I might need to go to bed earlier, and get myself adjusted to this spring forward crap.

Decisions, Decisions . . . . . .

My kids want a dog.  I DO NOT want a dog.  Its not that I don't like animals, its the fact that I know how much work they are, and my plate is already full in that area.  It does sound good at times.  I would like to have a dog, because I would feel a little more secure.  I am what you would call somewhat of an "anxiety freak."  No joke.  I am SUPER CAUTIOUS.  Some make fun of me. WHATEVER.  I just like to be as safe as possible.

Since I like to be as safe, it was a hard decision (not really) when it came to choosing between two things . . . . . . Alarm System, or Dog?  Hmmmmmmmm . . . . .

I Choose . . . .. . . .
LOVE IT!  Not only am I one of those "clinging to my guns and religion" Americans, but now, I will be clinging to my Alarm System as well.  YES!

Call me insensitive, but this decision was easy.

My Alarm WILL NOT:
*poop all over my yard,
*get hair and slobber all over my home
*require a sitter whenever I want to go out of town
*chew up my furniture and shoes
*bark at every little thing

My Alarm WILL:
*not require me to feed and nurture it
*go off if anyone tries to break into my house
*immediately call the police
*give me a lot more peace of mind . . . . something I obviously need

Maybe someday we will get a cute little dog . . . . . . Probably Not, but I've been known to eat my words.

Don't forget . . . . I will be changing my blogger address to localib.blogspot.com tomorrow.

BTW . . . . Anonymous . . . . . . I STILL know who you are!!!!

Edyn is my number 1 little lady. Many of you know her . . . . and if you don't . . . . ONCE AGAIN, you are missing out!

*Edyn Bedyn Bo Bedyn, The Beads . . . BEADSA . . . thats where her nickname came from, courtesy of Damon!
*Edyn is my sweet girl.
*Edyn LOVES LOVE.
*She is quite the artist. Always drawing something for someone.
*She is VERY sensitive (I am positive she did NOT get this from me).
*She loves her sisters. She loves her mommy and daddy. She loves her friends.
*Her and Lila are twins. They look exactly alike. I guess Lila will be just as beautiful as her older sister when she grows up. Lucky her!
*She loves school.
*She loves to have dance offs . . . beware . . . she is a sore loser.
*She loves quesadillas.
*She is quite the singer. She loves the spotlight. (Didn't get that from me either).
*She has her first crush on a very cute little guy . . . unfortunately, so do all the other girls! DRAMA!
*She loves to snuggle, and usually ends up in our bed . . . even though she is six. Uhg.
*She helps me so much around the house.
*She wants to be a Rock Star or an Architect. Hmmmmm . . . I choose Architect.

Words could never describe how much I LOVE MY BEADSA!

We spent Edyn's 5th Birthday in a hospital room. She was a good sport. I was a little pre- occupied with a brand new baby and never got around to posting about it.

Tonight . . . . WE PARTY HARDCORE . . . . . At Fairchild Cinemas of course. We will be watching The Jonas Brothers 3D.

UNO

One year ago today

March 2, 2008 @ 8:30pm

Lila Lynn

better known as Toots, joined our little family.

Many of you know this little lady, but for those of you who don't . . . . you are missing out!

*She came out big (an ounce shy of 9 pounds), and has remained a chub chub ever since. LOVE IT!
*She had horrible colic the first 5 months of her life. I swore up and down I would never have another one. Then, for some reason (thank goodness) she turned perfect, and I ate my words. I might have another.
*She probably screamed the first five months because of all the gas she had, which is where "Toots" came from.
*She pretty much looks the exact same as she did when she was born. I can't believe how much she hasn't changed, well, except for getting bigger!
*She prefers her daddy, more than me, and that's okay. That just goes to show what a good daddy he is. I think that good daddy's are VERY attractive :).
*She looks exactly like her daddy.
*She was breast fed up until 9 1/2 months (that's the longest I have ever made it!!!), and then she lost interest. Unfortunately, that is when I bid farewell to my voluptuous "C" cup, very firm, milk filled lady lumps, and with a sad heart, welcomed back back my saggy "A" cups, which resemble rocks in socks. BOOOO.
*I have only had to shave her mullet once.
*She loves yogurt, which comes in handy, because she had a reoccurring yeast infection for two months.
*She started walking at around 11 months.
*She loves to point.
*She loves to eat left over food off the floor. . . . . . . . Who needs a dog?
*She says "Mama, "Dada," and "BaBa". . .. she LOVES her bottle.
*She has 6 teeth.
*She loves to take baths.
*She LOVES her sisters.

I LOVE HER . . . . . more than words can describe. I am sure all you mothers can relate.

Happy 1st Birthday Lila Toots.

A birthday just wouldn't be a right if you couldn't run around in your birthday suit with your significantly slimmer older cousin.
