Two Miracles

 Miracle 1
We actually took family pictures this year.  Our second ever.  No stick figure drawings. Actual pictures, with an actual camera. Luckily, I work with a bunch of amazing wedding photographers, and my friend Johhny was so kind to take a stab at our family. Little did he know what he was getting himself into.

This happend.

And this.

This too.
And this.

Aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnndddddd this.

(I think its obvious who the boss is in our family).

Luckily, during the circus, he did manage to capture some precious photos of our little family. And I am so very grateful.

 Behold.
Our family photo shoot.

And just for the record . . . . . . No, I did not photoshop my legs to look longer (although I could if I wanted too). Johnny used his wide angle lense in some of these shots and it just appears that they are long. Which I sort of like, cause people like me with short legs will take it where we can get it. If all of you could just look at me thru a wide angle lense from now on . . . . that would be awesome.

 Miracle 2
I sent out Christmas cards.  They may have been ghetto. But I did it.  And that was a lot of work. I don't know how people do that every year.  For those of you whose address I don't have. Here you go.

Aloha from Hawaii

We are loving our life on the island of Oahu. We have been here almost two years and have no plans of leaving any time soon.

Damon is very busy working for Expedia and has one semester left before he graduates with his Masters in Educational Technology. He also manages to take a few pictures here and there. He's pretty amazing at everything he does, but he excels at putting up with all the estrogen he has surrounding him on a regular basis.

Libbie works as a substitute teacher for the Hawaii DOE, and also for a wedding photography company in Honolulu editing many of their of Japanese weddings. She also enjoys/hates running with her friends, and is trying to become more domestic after 13 years of marriage. So far it's not working out so well.

Edyn is 9, in 4th grade, loves to be on the swim team, she is a wonderful student, is a great helper, and loves being with her friends. She is very into hair and fashion, and often encourages Libbie to wear her yoga pants less.

Ava is 7, in 2nd grade, sort of likes being on the swim team, kind of likes tennis, is also a wonderful student, is very kind and caring and loves to give hugs. She likes to draw, is an excellent reader, and loves to be with her friends. She is also very into fashion, and loves accessorizing.

Lila is 4, and goes to Preschool at Wahiawa Baptist, she knows all of her letters, and is a rock star at writing her name. She also excels at singing “Jesus Loves Me” at the top of her lungs in public places, like Costco. She is the life of the party everywhere she goes and keeps everyone entertained with her craziness. She has many frenemies . . . . . it sort of just works out that way when you are 4 and think you rule the world.

We are blessed to live in such a beautiful place, and are so grateful to have such great family and friends. We wish you all the best in 2013. Our home is always open for anyone who wants to drop in for dinner, or maybe stay a week or two!

Just Some Fun Stuff

We've been busy. Really busy. Working, going to school, raising kids, being cool. Its hard work.  Sometimes we manage to squeeze in some fun. And then I get too busy to put it on my blog, which is ultimately my journal. So I have to backtrack before the year is through and add these memories.

Maui Half Marathon

We rocked it.

 Sharks at SeaLife Park
Luckily Expedia is awesome and we are able to get our activities for free.
Don't waste your time or money on this one. Just look at them thru the glass.

Legends Waikiki
DO waste your time and money on this.  Awesome. Fun. And well worth it.
They even had virgin drinks for us non-Alky's

Daddy Daughter Ball

I have such pretty girls. And they have such a good Daddy. Such an exciting night. Daddy Daughter Ball, AND a Tsunami warning.

And a change of costume for LaLa Loopsie. The wig/helmet just wasn't' working out for her.

The Color Run

Honolulu Marathon

Carb Loading at Bucca Di Beppo

Just packing up my water belf full of running nuggest and gems.

Done. And Done.

A Lot of Post Marathon Gluttony

For some reason all I want this week is RootBeer. It must have to do with how delicious it is. No, I'm not pregnant. I just ran a marathon and I am allowing myself to eat and drink whatever I want this week. Tomorrow, its back to my sort of healthy lifestyle.

My birthday Chocolate Haupia Pie. This might be against the law to say this in Hawaii, but Costco's is WAY better than Ted's Bakery.  WAY.

Magic of Polynesia.

This is FUN. And FUNNY.  DO go to this if you are in Honolulu.

Trustworthy Edyn
She earned a Character Trait award for Trustworthiness at Wheeler Elementary.  I'm such a proud Mama.

Aaaaaaaaannnnnnnd that's a wrap.
