I Love Fall

I lived in Hawaii for three years. I loved the warm weather, but it got a little old sometimes, constantly being sweaty and always having to grease my fuzzy hair back due to the humidity.

When we moved home, I was so happy to live in a place where there were four seasons. I like how when I'm just about tired of being hot all the time, it starts to cool off. And when I am just about tired of being cold all the time, it starts to get warm.

My favorite season is Fall! Below are a few reasons why.

* My chapstick no longer melts in my car.

* Time to break out the Fall sweats.

* Crock pot meals. Chili is my specialty.

* Crisp cool air.

* High School Football games. GO LIONS! ROAR!

* Christmas is just around the corner, and I can threaten my kids that Santa won't be coming if they are naughty. (I am so mean, but it totally works).

* I love running int the Fall. Its so cool and I don't get overheated.

* Apple season. I LOVE APPLES. Pink Lady's are my fav, Fuji's and Gala's are also delightful.

* Fall colors. So BEAUTIFUL! I think we might attempt a family photo this year with the trees in the background.

Fall is one of my faves as well, especially this year! We will have a new little someone with us! I too love the colors, and where you guys are, you have the seasons!

I didn't know you were really into politics. I guess you learn something new every day!

Glad your family business is picking up! (I've taken a break for obvious reasons.)

Hope you can still post, since I love reading your blog! But, good for you for focusing and staying busy!

Amen Sista! I love fall too, but for some reason, I am not quite ready for summer to be over this year. It was so cold here and we had so much going on that I didn't really get to enjoy it. But, Fall is my old fave and I am excited for all that it brings. I too love your chili!

I am extremely passionate about the fall. It's what i live for. In fact, my list is very similar to yours...except for the political stuff...I could live without that.

Well, I don't like fall! It means the end of summer. I love being hot and sweaty. I love getting into a stifling hot car. And I love it not getting dark until 9 pm. Fall is the end to all that. Although I would agree that I love high school football...I mean the cheerleaders ...I mean football :)

I love fall also. But, this year I am loving planting all the flowers that I would usually plant in the beginning of the summer right now! I just planted petunias in my garden and they will bloom ALL winter long! I love this!
But, I would kill for a fresh off the tree WA apple right now.

The Chapstick comment made me laugh my chapped lips off. I hate that too.

I'm with you Libbie - living in New York was so fun in the fall.

And I'm so stealing your "Nobama" word. Love it.

Fall is definitely the best. I love that I can wear all my dark colors again, especially with my many sweaters! The only thing I don't like about Fall in Minnesota is that the subzero temps are just around the corner, and that is extremely depressing. At least I'll be able to catch up on a lot of book reading! By the way, that is a beautiful photo. Did you take it? Very beautiful!

Fall does have many wonderful things that I love, but I think I still love summertime the best...or maybe I love both and winter and spring...

You really hit the nail on the head about being ready to trade in one kind of weather for another just in time for a new season. The other night Donald and Lisa and the rest of us were hanging out visiting on my patio. When it started to get cold I went inside and put on jeans, a sweater, a jacket and shoes and socks. It felt SO nice and cozy and I suddenly found myself ready for fall. GO WARM CLOTHES!!!

Your post makes me miss home! I have come to the conclusion that Kennewick has the best weather (and yes, I do love the wind). Hopefully I'll be able to make it home to enjoy a little of it soon. Go Lions. (I haven't said that forever).

Fall is my absolte Favorite. I agree with everything on your list, but think you should add- pumpkins, all things pumpkin. Carving them, the smell of them all lit up on Halloween, and of course, chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. I make these probably once a week until we are all so sick of them. I will send on the recipe. By the way, I hate pumpkin pie- these are totally different.

Hey Libbie, I sent you an invite to view our blog (I went private a few days ago), and I think I sent it to an old address. Can you email me your new address at lydiazollinger@yahoo.com? Thanks!

I was so ready for my chapstick to stop melting. I would try all of these different locations in my car for it, but no matter where I would place it, it would turn to liquid.

And Kennewick HS football just makes the season.

Oh ya, and you still have not picked up your winnings! You need to have the Nobama ASAP!

Yeah for fall. I too, am a summer person but fall is a close second. And I agree with everyone else that Kennewick does have some great weather. Have fun at those KHS football games! Go Lions!
