An Eventful Day

Today I took Lila to the doctor for her 4 month well baby. She is pretty much a chub chub. She weighed in at 15 lbs 12.5 ounces (83 percentile) and 26 inches long (92 percentile). I Love her!

After that, I of course packed up my brood and headed to the pool. Of course I didn't wear my swimsuit because as most of you know from previous posts, I don't usually end up in the pool because my darling Lila just won't allow it. But look . . . . . . . . . .

I got her to sleep. Isn't she cute!

As I was relaxing and enjoying not holding her, I was of course watching the pool with my eagle eyes (i never take my eyes off my kids, or the other kids I am responsible for, which today, just so happened to be a lot). As I was watching the pool, I noticed my almost 6 year old nephew jump into the 4 feet section, you know the section in which he cannot touch and the section I told him to absolutely NOT go in because he doesn't know how to swim and there are plenty of other places in the pool where he can touch and play. So as he is struggling, aka, nearly drowning, lifeguard Libbie to the rescue dives into the pool and saves the little turkey's life. I lift him up to the side of the pool where I give him a severe scolding for not obeying, telling him that I did not tell him that he couldn't go in the 4 feet to be mean, but I told him that because I loved him and didn't want him to DIE!

So I get out, soaking wet, because of course I didn't wear my swim suit, and realize that my precious NEW iPhone that Sugar Daddy bought me was in my pocket at the time of the "rescue" and soaked up enough water to be completely ruined. Dang (and Dang is an understatement becuase I really want to swear). I mean, how selfish am I, my nephew nearly drowns and I am totally worried about my phone.

So after the severe scolding, not even three minutes later, guess who is making his way back to the 4 feet? You guessed it. This is when we packed up and left. I am sure all of the people at the pool were quite satisfied with the entertainment for the day. Life saving, yelling, and more yelling (hey, I was mad, give me some credit). Thank goodness Nicole was there to document this. I am sure she was also amused. Let's hope this is our first and last incident of the summer.

Yes, I realize my nostrils are flared. This is a talent that comes out when I am mad.

The moral of this story is:
1. Always wear your swim suit to the pool. 2. Always make your nephew wear a life jacket, even if he isn't sent with one, just march your lazy bum to your apartment and get him a pretty pink one. 3. It doesn't matter that my phone is broken. It only matters that little guy is alive.

So to all of my fans who I communicate with on a regular basis through "cellular" phone: Know this . . . . . . the reason I am not answering is because phone is out of commission until I can get a new one. Your going to have to try me at home.

Sugar Daddy, I know you are out of the country right now, and cannot call me and you are finding out about this via blog, so can mommy please have a new phone when you get home?

Confessions: Part Dos

1. I always swore (I should just quit swearing, because I always end up eating my words later) that I would never turn into one of those frumpy wives. I promised myself that I would always try and look my best for my husband, my family, and of course, myself. Well . . . most of you already know this, because you see me on a regular basis, but for those of you who don't . . . . . I must confess. I am the Queen of all Frumps. I have really let myself go, and the true confession here . . . . Is that I JUST DON'T CARE. I should care, I really should. But I just don't have the time or energy.
You can see me on any given day, out in public in the most ghastly state. (sidenote: I only see people I know out in public when I look like white trash. Any rare occasion when I look cute, I don't see a soul who knows me, so my efforts are all in vain). I am usually wearing sweats of some sort. I have an undying love of sweats, but this is a whole different post for another day. In the winter I have a plethora of sweats. Black, navy, red, grey, green . . . . the list goes on. I wear them so frequently that I even got myself many pairs of "dress sweats." Dress sweats would be sweats that you can glam up a little, you know, maybe wear some jewels with, or maybe they have a matching jacket. Heck, you could even wear heels with some of them if you wanted to. Most people don't wear sweats in the summer, but I do. I simply buy capri sweats, or if I want to show a little skin, I will wear what you would call knickerbocker sweats . . . you know, the ones that go just past your knee.
I wish that my frumpyness only consisted of me wearing sweats, but it gets worse. This is my morning routine: I usually roll out of bed (I am SO not a morning person) and the first thing I do, is put on a white V-Neck mens t-shirt (I have so many I can't count) that I have worn the previous two days, and try to find myself a fresh pair of sweats. Fresh sweats are hard to find when you do laundry as little as I do. If no clean sweats are available, I simply put on a "previously worn pair" (sounds better than filthy dirty).

You will be happy to know that I do brush my teeth every day, sometimes two or three times. This is something that I just cannot and will not let slide. What I don't do, except maybe once or twice a week, is my hair an makeup. It simply takes too much time to tame my gnarly knots. I am pretty sure there is some unwritten rule, that you shouldn't wear make up and a have cute hair if you are wearing dirty sweats, a pair of three year old flip flops and a shirt that not only has food stains on it, but also smells like rotten baby spit up.
So there you have it. My first confession. I am a FRUMP. And I cannot see that changing anytime soon. (the good news is that my husband still thinks I am hot. What can I say, when you got it, YOU GOT IT!)
Yes, its true . . . . . this is how I normally look. Although these two pictures are a treat, because I have writing on my dirty shirt, and I am actually wearing jeans for once, although they are too small. Dang.
I actually went to the mall like this, and the whole time I was praying I didn't run into anyone I knew. Wouldn't you know, I did. It was a little embarrassing, but not enough for me to change my ways.

What you don't know about these sweats, is that they are maternity. And yes, I gave birth three and a half months ago, but continue to wear them. They are just that comfortable, and I still need to lose 20 pounds!

2. Even though I have let myself slide . . . . . . I have always made it a point to at least have my kids looking cute. I used to make sure that they were all dolled up every day. Cute hair, cute outfit, smelly good lotion . . . . the works. Not so much anymore. They are at the age where they want to dress themselves, and it is just not worth the fight. I simply let them wear what they want. And yes . . . . they too wear it out in public. So my second confession: I don't care that my kids also look like orphans . . . because they aren't.

Yes, I took her out in public like this. It happens all the time.

Once again, I send her out in public like this. She usually looks the best out of all of us. She just loves to accesorize. Mostly she likes to wrap fake lei's around her like they are belts. Sometimes she does this with scarves too. Its beautiful.

3. Before I was a mom, I swore I would never do a lot of things. Then I became a mom, and that all changed. For example. My three year old . . . . Yes that would be three, still has a binki. I must confess, I did break her of the binki a long time ago. She was doing pretty well without it. But recently, I was so stinking tired, and I needed a nap in the worst way. The only way I could get the girl to take a nap was to offer her a binki. Sold. She took the bait. But she has had it ever since. I only let her have it, because it simply makes my like easier. Shame on me. But at least she takes naps again, and every once in a while I sneak one in. I will start to get myself geared up to get rid of it again here really soon . . .. maybe.

4.I re-use pull-ups! AHHHHHHHH!!! My husband thinks its so gross. But I have gotten really cheap in my old age. If they are not wet after being used, well heck, they are still good as new, so we use them again, and sometimes, again! Please tell me I am not the only one. (If I am, then I am really gross)!

I could write a book with all my confessions, but I will have to save some more for a later date, as I have some housecleaning to do, and all my sweats and t-shirts are in desperate need of being laundered.

Crazy Hair Day

Edyn is wraping up her last week of Pre-School. We were pretty sure today was crazy hair day, but I am one of those moms who is always late to school, and is always forgetting about everything (shame on me). Just to make sure, we drove to school and I ran in and checked. Sure enough . . . Crazy Hair Day, so we quickly did her hair in the car. We tried to do a mo hawk, which ended up not working, her hair was to long. So instead she got the punk rocker look. She was pretty pleased. Its going to be a blast getting all the rats and hairspray out when she gets home!

D-Day

Okay, I don't usually advocate for divorce, but in this case it was a MUST. Soooooooooooo. . . . . that is what the big time girls night was for. A Celebration! I wasn't sure if I should post about it, in case I offended someone, but then I remembered that I am always offending people, so it wouldn't be anything different. It was a huge success. Like I said, lots of grub, lots of laughs, and lots of lovely ladies (and a few guys who were very, very brave)!

Anyway, I am so glad that my Meggers decided that she wasn't into abuse and had the nerve to leave . . . . So HAPPY D-DAY to you my SEXY SINGLE sister. And may your next husband be a REAL MAN.

Sorry about the picture overload. I didn't even get pictures of everyone who was there, or there would be lots more. I don't know how to do those slide show things, so one of you super bloggers out there will have to show me someday.

Yes, this is the top of her wedding cake!

LOVE all these ladies!

I just had to do it Nan . . . for Meeeeeeyatch's viewing pleasure!

More ladies

Thanks for the free divorce . . . Mariah, great friend and great LAWYER.
